Silence is golden?

Someone slaps you
with it you can embarass him
Someone mocks you
with it you can put him down
Someone tells you how to do things
with it you can prove him wrong
Someone drags you someplce
with it you can freeze him

But when you get shot
with it you can kill yourself
And when you are  confused
with it you can end up in a maze
If you want to get things done
with it you will never get started
And when someone's heart on the edge
with it you can kill a friend

It can never numb the pain
It can never hear you say
It shall forever keep you vain
and always ruin your day
For the heart can take just as much
and your soul needs to breathe too
Speak a few, life is such
all u believe still holds true

Everyone says more than they should
but hardly speak when love is the cost
Silence, be a boon, it probably could
but look at the ground or the moment will be lost...

When you walk away...

Its like the sea so wide under the open sky
you sailed across with the gentle northern breeze by your side
The waters seemed to sparkle with glee
and the sunrays shimmered like little gems
The wind was calm and the horizon bright
and you wouldnt worry about the midnight tide
but even though storms loomed large close enough
they always seemed so far away
for maybe it was bright and sunny,
or maybe you had seemed to find the answers,
And took life by the day...

Storms did come, storms did pass
hails stonerd the sails but they wud never fail
you thought you'd always keep sailing this way
'cos it brought you where you were and further perhaps too
you promised this would be the day that would never end
and you wud sew back to health the shredded cloth
and then that day,
a storm did come again, but it wasnt as it had always been...

The pleasant weather seemd so far gone
and the southern winds pushed you to another course
a course u never steered though the sails were in your hands
even though the winds were with you
it took a storm to take over
made you unbelieve all that you did
perhaps believe what you never could
the horizon seemed brighter this way
and land somehow seemed the perfect relief
you unlearned the lessons u taught urself
the sails were getting torn and you were too busy to mend
for now this tempest made you squirm
for you never hath known such a rage
the waves drove into the wood
the mast seemed to give away

Now you are beached in an island green
you lost trust in the boat
and felt it was a waste
to have sailed so far away
and yet have gone a place so close
the storm makes you run away
or inside the little caves
the sunny days are a bad dream somehow
and the new hope lives upon the dead...

You can eat all you want but in the end we all have to crap

Food has its own levels of significance. Someone who owns a car probably takes food for granted 'cos the choices availble to him are aplenty. While a homeless man with no money may find stale bread the sole means to meeting his daily nutritional intake. In the end, both have to crap.
It might sound obnoxious but think about it.
I & my friends might go to coffee shop. We usually order different dishes. Maybe i will have chocolate cake while someone will have a sandwich while another one might have a milkshake. And in the end, we all will have to go crap! Still not making any sense?
We all wake up in the morning. Someone may get a raise. Someone may get fired. Someone may win the lottery. Someone's house may get burnt down. Someone may hit someone. Somebody might get hit by someone. Someone might meet the woman of his dreams. While someone might break up with his worst nightmare. They will somehow get through their day and in the end, they will all go to sleep. Their thoughts & dreams might be different but what connects them all is that they are going to see another morning.
A businessman might make a million a day. A teacher might make 5000 every month. They both survive a month.
One might have sushi for dinner. And another might have dal-roti. Both tummies getfilled.
One might ride 10 miles on a 1000cc, Rs.10,00,000 superbike. Someone else might ride 10 miles on a 100cc, Rs. 30,000 bike. They both reach home.
Someone may paint a 30'X40' specially prepared canvas. Someone else may paint the same thing on a 3"x3" piece of paper. Both works are called art
Some band performs in concerts all across the world. Anotehr band plays at the local club. Both are considered musicians.
Someone has a tri-band 10GB 5 megapixel camera phone with MP3 playback. Someone else has a basic 100 phonebook 64kb memory phone. Both phones can make calls.
...and the list can go on n on. In the end the purpose does get served. In the end, everyone does get what they want and need. In the end, everyone goes to bed and wakes up the next morning. And crap before they get going.
What does this mean? That everything has equal value and that we should focus on what the basic purpose of every thing is? Not quite and absolutely so. We should appreciate when more value is added to anything. We should listen to music on our mp3 phones or test the max speeds on our 1000cc motorcycles or enjoy a good meal at a 5-star restaurant or the enormity of one's work and patience on a large canvas or savour the tones that make a band a worldwide phenomenon. However, at the same time, we have to learn to appreciate the simplicity of what we have come to see as 'mundane' and the 'normal'. Your first rupee/doller is priceless. A simple meal when famished seems like a 3 course meal. When all transport systems has shut down, the humble 100cc is a life-saver. When having a bad day, the small band can still cheer you up. The small work of art could be a sight for sore eyes. And you can still talk on the bsic celphone to your loved ones if you are stranded on the highway to let them know you are alright.
But it is not just the functionality that is important. It is in the end, what we make of what we have. About how we add value to our things and life. About how much we apprecate every single aspect of our life and how much more valuable we make it for ourselves.
..."cos remember, everyhing said and done, everyone has to go and crap!
